spoilt a little by the rain mid day, timing prob's and photo shoot........... but at £40 was a bargain
far better value than the usual RWYB

i do we we all over his valver ......... power to weight of my car is about the same as a mk2 Golf 16v (140bhp per ton), but because mine's lighter i'll get away from the lights quicker
mk2 Golf 16v would be catching 2/3rd's distance.......but i'll be too far ahead and i'll pass the at the 1/4 mile mark first
only way a valver should win is if i'm asleep when the light goes to green........that happen a lot though
.....
forgot to say i beat a Ibiza Cupra Sport (2.0 8v) down the strip today too

they did'nt bother on Saturday due to the rain
...
hopefully the next i'm at York it will be dry & i'll have a vernier pulley fitted so my cam timing will be spot on

got the results of the Practical Performance Car Magazine £999 Challenge
21st (out of 32)
doesn't sound that impressive, but i beat the Uno Turbo (25th) & 106 XSi (28th)................i even beat the Starlet with the V8 engine (22nd)
also according to the results my best 0-60 was 7.929...........found a couple more timing slips in my glovebox, one with a 8.347sec 0-60

back on topic
me & our Matt finally got a trackday done today (Elvington)
due to the current noise reg's (98db) i've had to fit a quieter exhaust system......got a G40 backbox off eBay & Matt made me a centre section out of parts from 3 different exhausts
good bits of the day were......
newbies is Scooby, RX7 & Integra Type R trying to keep us behind them...... & failing
rules are "let the faster car's past".........i think they did'nt listen properly at the drivers meeting
RX7 spun while trying to keep ahead of our Matt
bad bits.......
fuel starvation - fuel sloshes to one side of the tank and the engine starts coughing.........solved this by running with more fuel in the tank (used 27 litres today)
used a bit of oil - had to top it up twice.........ring or bores are getting worn (i'll run it til it goes bang)
worst bit.......
blown a hole in my 4 branch exhaust manifold, car sound like a truck..........it will have to come off and be welded
..............
tyres did well
......
finally got round to scanning part one of my car's appearance in Practical Performance Car magazine (i'll scan the 2nd part when i find it)

Tax ran out yesterday, MOT due in a week....... so I was thinking of taking off the road til I could afford to fix this
Anywho..... done a deal with our Matt, he's repairing it.... & I'm giving him some mk1 Golf bits for doing it
My selling spree on eBay & the bit of overtime I got at work will pay for the tax & test
&...... I've got some 13 inch BBS RA's with nearly new 175/60x13's at a bargain price...... even though I should not be buying stuff thats not really needed at th moment
