Magic car mate, love it - gonna make such a cool ride when it's done. You definately can't change the interior too much as it's so cool and looks in great condition. I agree that any colour change needs to be retro and in keeping with the interior. Chocolate brown would look hot with that interior? (Although this is quite popular at the minute and it might not stand out). Think a two tone job would look great because of the trim lines and it's general shape. Look forward to seeing how this comes along. Good luck my friend.

Managed to borrow an engine hoist of Milko yesterday (cheers buddy!) and hopefully tomorrow i'l be lifting the engine out, i have plans to use the engine thats in the car and keep it half original.. for now, as it runs well and ive heard HH engines respond well to subtle tweaking and heave slightly more aggressive cams than mk3 gt's.. 4speed all the way! PS.. anyone who's good with cars is welcome to pop along and help... tea and biscuits provided lol!

All being well its going to Trafalgar motors, off cannon street. They've done a few of my bro's mk2 escorts, their weldings really tidy, and the theyre spraying is nifty too! Plus they're pretty well priced, it helps that my bro's spent a load with em!

me too, the engine in it runs really sweet, and according to a lot of mk1/2 owners on clubpolo its a great engine that'l easy see 80-85brake with a few tweaks! So gonna whip the head off, have it skimmed and new valve guides/stem seals etc (its smokey but it has great compression so probably isn't rings! will check for any bore wear first incase tho!) My on the road dae is july 1st... i'm very optimistic! It will probably get an uprated engine at some point but time isn't on my side for this show season!

Been busy indeed! Engine, box and driveshafts are out, just need to remove all the small stuff from under the bonnet then exhaust, interior, glass, rear bumper and lights etc..
Oh and please excuse the slightly crazed pic of me.. i didnt get in until 5this morning after walking home from town, so ive not had a lot of sleep! Sleep Think ive done ok considering i'm working from a rented garage with no power or power tools!

And the good old daily drive gt did me proud, acted as a load lugger, provided tunes for 7+ hours without he battery going flat, and was also a good seat when some food turned up!

Wow... you're certainly moving on quickly! Lenny would be proud. Spoke to another former owner of it, Ted who works in Parts at Grimsby Audi... he'd also be interested to see how it's all going.

Looking good. The GT also looks like a good buy... nearly bought it myself!
