i'd heard a few bad things about this car so i was a bit sceptic about wether i should consider buying it or not so me and sam went down to see it and gave it a right going over, checked everything! and apart from a few granny dings and the rust on the tailgate its a pretty tidy car, the engine is sweet as a nut which i was quite surprised about as apparently its done 123k but i know this isnt true because there used to be an ABD engine in the car so im unsure of the actual mileage (any clues there paul )
but yeah there were no leaks/funny noises/creamy substances or anything so i was quite pleased.
nick and i agreed a sale for a bargain price for her and off she went, i picked her up on wednesday (would have been sooner if it werent for the floods)
some alterations its had:
the throttle body has been de-wedged
lowered 40mm on eibach springs and gmax shocks
mk2 golf gti brakes
braided hoses etc
mushroom air filter (shazza-hilfiger in his saxo vtr says this adds 170bhp)
its sitting on some hockenheims from a mk2 polo coupe s, i like these wheels theyre pretty nice.
best thing about my GT is its a bit of a street sleeper, looks pretty bog standard its nice haha
ive got a few plans for it, im going to get some lowering top-caps for the front so its sits roughly 55/40 or maybe even get new front springs. also does anybody know if a G40 camshaft can be fitted? without changing the head or anything? i wouldnt even mind getting the hockenheims polished or even painted, if anyones got some pics of these wheels when theyre done nicely would be appreciated...
ive ordered a debadge grill for it, but im unsure now as i quite like it how it is, wouldnt mind some clear indicators for the front!
(ps. my old square is up for sale im taking stupid money for it, i just need rid of it tbh)
