My mk1 Golf G60 (Bit of paint going on at last)

It's not forsale anymore and i'm now in the process of doing what i said i would in the 1st place which was to run a G60 corrado engine
This is the doner engine which i pulled out of my scirocco.

and this is sat on the floor after an hours work

was very dirty so i made a start on stripping it and giving it a clean.

and here is the charger it's a stage 2 at the mo but will have it ported to stage 4 at some point.
it was very dirty so cleaned it up a bit.

Anyhow cleaned it all up and painted the block and stuff.
starting to take shape now


painted the charger bracket and pulleys ready to go back on.


started to rebuild it,charger bracket and some pipes back on.


pulleys and lower belt cover back on.


charger painted back up and ready to go back on once the engine is in.

so got a few things done.will be nice and quick off the line as i'm running the original 8v box which has low gearing so will max out at 120mph.just got to source a slimline intercooler and some pipework and it's ready to go.

nice work.....best thing to do running original 8v box I had one some years ago in fact I think it may have been the 1.6 8v box !! 120mph is more than enough in a mk1 anyways....very scary after that....I must be getting old

Thanks guys.there is only one way to learn in my experience and thats to get stuck in.
Luckily vw's are an easy car to work on

No worries mate should be all done in the next couple of weeks

Little bit more done this morning.
Fitted the belt pulleys and painted and fitted the belt adjuster then put it all back on the charger bracket.




also fitted my charger blanking plate and breather to eliminate the need for the boost return pipe.




will be putting it in next weekend weather permitting of course.

Yeah i hope so sarah got a few days off work so i can crack on with it.

so by 11 it's all ready to come out these cars are so easy to work on

Got a ew things done sunday afternoon inbetween the rain



Moved the fuelines across to the drivers side.

And then dropped the G60 engine back in.also changed all the linkage bushs while the engine was out.


few of the intercooler sat in place it's a tight fit in there
