    OMG thanks! Very Happy

Yesterday I finally found some bolts and nuts to resolve those problems, and Linnie (gf) did some work on the hole that we're going to use for the loom to go through.
So now the cable tree is also in the car Very Happy

    Thanks Sarah!

This past week I've made some more progress, the cab is now fully sanded down so I can prep and paint it in the next few days!
The bi-metal oilpan is fitted (which is less low), the transmission and engine is filled with oil, some of the shifting rods are fitted so it can be shifted into neutral from the interior.
A few of the silicon hoses arrived from the uk and immediately fitted those too!
The in-tank fuelpump is fitted, and we've also started working on fitting the loom to the old fusebox so that in a next few weeks I can start the engine Very Happy

So all I need now is a few more parts and some more wiring work and I'll be EXTREMELY happy!!

The first proof that the car has moved on it's own wheels Very Happy

    1.8 20vt Cupra MK1 Cab project - Page 3 Carterpan6
Now that the bi-metal oilpan is fitted I can finally see how low the engine sits in the mk1!
I really need to fit 16" wheels to have the arches filled and giving it the stance it deserves!!!

LOL Your the first that says anything about it, I couldn't get them off crackwack
They were on the verge of breaking, so I stopped pulling lol!

I wanted to remove some more stuff, but I'm not going to spend loads and loads of money on rubbers when the engine doesn't even run...

    10-05-08:

Well i'm not completely satisfied since the paint isn't as smooth as the primer was, so it still has a bit of an "orange skin".

This paint project all started out because it had a really bad paint, and every result like we have now is 1000 times better...
but offcourse now that it's painted the little perfectionist in me comes up and now I want to polish it and make it smooth Shocked Laughing

cool project might be easier for you to relocate the battery to the boot ? will give you more space for the intercooler piping near the battery tray Smile

@ Lyndyloo: Thank you Very Happy a paintjob by a pro might cost a lot but I now know why Laughing the sanding is a real pain!!

@ Paul H: Thanks buddy, yup the battery is going into the boot, but I'm not allowed to remove the batterytray from the engineroom for our "SVA-test".

After the test it's going out!

Tonight I've made a huge step (for me) in this project!

After receiving the third oil return line it now finally fits the oil pan, and there's now actually oil in the 1.8T Shocked Very Happy
I've been looking forward to this for months now Laughing

and I've polished a bit of paint to see how nice I could get it.:

    Thanks spen!!!

    It's aliveeeeee!!!!!!!!!! Very Happy

There was just one small problem, when I bought the engine the ecu was rewritten to have the vag immobilizersoftware removed since I don't have the ibiza keys and clocks.

But today we found that it wasn't done correctly so now it stalls after 2/3 seconds, but I'm having that reprogrammed ASAP!!!

Everything else was amazing, no errorcodes in vag-com except for the immobilizer error.

I'll post the film on youtube later!
