In about just over a week i'l be picking up my new toy:

A 1954 LHD Swedish import Oval beetle.
It has belonged to a friend of mine and i've watched him painstakingly
restore the floor pan and chassis to the point its at now, which is
    better than new!

I can't claim to have done any of the work.
Here is a link to the build thread up to now on my local aircooled forum:

    http://deutschworks.com/index.php?topic=1063.0

He has lost interest in the project and i nearly ripped his arm off when he put it up for sale!

Here is how it stands today:

As you can see, its solid as fook. Needs about half a days welding to get the shell finished off.
    Its
had the roof caved in at some point - but the plan for the short term
is to sling a roofrack on. Long term plan is to get a golde ragtop cut
    into it.

And finally in its new home:

Employed a friend to clean up the all important feature:

And finally started tackling the rather nasty caved in roof area:

I know mass filling isn't the best idea, but its only for the short term, Gonna stick a roof rack on until i can source a proper Golde rag top to cut in.

You're heading into dream car territory here, I've always fancied either a split window or oval Beetle. Looking forward to seeing this progress. So, how many cars have you got on the boil at the minute??????

I sold the series1 mk1 to fund the oval so now i'm down to just 2 VW's, the 1965 and the 1954
