    My Mk2 VR6 Project Empty My Mk2 VR6 Project

Post by Stevie P Sun Jul 22, 2007 6:51 am

I've put a selection of pics together (in the link below), through differant stages of the conversion. It's being a right headache doing it but it's nearly there. Everything is done by myself, with the help of a couple of mates at some stages.
The pics are abit old, but it has taken nearly a year to get to where it is now. I'm about to go out there after posting this to crack on with the wiring, I'll take me camera with me and get some pics as it stands now...Hopefully done by October (less interior)

i wanna do a vr6. Looks dead good. How much of a ball ache was it? and if you mind my asking after youd sourced all the parts how much did it cost you?

Imagine when you start it and wind it up how good its gonna be! then in a week youll wanna turbo it!

It depends on conditions you got to work in sam. It's taken me a while to do because I haven't got garage space to work under cover (4 motorbikes in there most of the time), so I have had the weather to put up with. It's really simple to do a straight forward conversion but I've gone for the mk3 running gear which gives abit more of a wider track then the standard. Plus everything has either being undersealed, recon'd, bought new, or uprated. The only bits that have cost me anything or going to cost is, new coilovers (because the 1's on won't adjust so they're stuck at 90mm drop) and the custom exhaust.

Best donor car is the corrado, but I couldn't justify taking a good 1 to bits so I got a mk3 instead. still needed parts from a vr6 corrado but they're like rocking horse s*** to find in salvage yards.

I got a Spare engine that's being bored out and I think it's going to get built with a supercharger. (unless my BMW get the charger, can't decide hehe)

I couldn't put a price on it because it's not finished yet and I got the donor mk3 for next to nowt.

Insurance isn't that bad. £1100 for everything declared on classic Insurance. And I'm 24...Think I'm going to wait till next April, when I'm 25 should be a lil bit easier to manage 3 policies than hehe.
