Thanks for the comments. I'm really please with the car and it really does fly, well up to a tonne anyway.
I've done a little bit of work to th car since i've had it, but the weather and being my daily ride have stopped me stripping it apart!
So far since September i have fitted new rear lights, changed the wheels, fitted spacers on the rear and a couple of cosmetic goodies for the interior.
Original rear lights
New rear lights
New wheels!!!
As you can see, the front bumper was a bit wonky. So just after a took these pictures i took the front bumper off, to find the bumper bracket bent. Well with the help of a heat gun and a hammer the front bumper now sits straight
.
New steering wheel
New winders
How she looks today
The car is really going to start to transform in the next couple of months. I've got it booked in for a respray, but i'm keeping the colour the same. During the respray the arch mouldings and side skirts are going to be colour coded. I'm leaving the door mouldings black though, as like i've said this is my daily driver and i need some protection in the dreaded car parks.
I've purchased a half roll cage off ebay a couple of weeks ago and am waiting for delivery, so that'll be fitted during the respray. Also the arches are going to be trimmed as i'm planning a good slammin. I have been looking at coilovers, but i'm really not sure what to go for. I'm looking for at least a 70mm drop and i want them to be fully adjustable. Anyone got any recommendations?
Both my door pockets are going to be coloured coded and my centre consol during the resparay. In fact i'm working on the centre consol, trying to fit a gauge plate for three gauges where the ashtray should normally go.
I've already managed to get some mk3 GTi calipers and carriers, will be getting rallye black diamond discs shortly. Then i'll just need m2 16v hubs and a master cylinder, hopefully that'll add to the stopping power.
Hopefully all this will be done by april for the first festival show at santa pod.
Its going to be a busy few months!!
