the mk2 polo new photo page 2

well finally plucked up the courage to let Sarah tow me home in the polo the other day(thanks to dale Phil and Lesley sorry we came at tea time my fault) so its took ed up int the spare garage waiting some loving

spent a few hours on the front bumper when i got board of doing wheels which included some plastic and a bit of heat

Your wheels not finished yet?

What's the first plan for the Polo then...?

wheels not got rubber on them and one still needs stripping and spraying just going to keep them for inters know
shame but something else seemed to take up loads of time last week and this cant think what it is


the plan is to get the engine running 1st

but i reverted to type yesterday and went and got the front bumper and started blending (gave me time to think about what i need to do to get it on the road )
which trust me will not be for some time yet as we both want this to be a very clever worked out daily full of little oem+ details that can very easily be missed along with an absence stance and throw back colour wheels are going to have to be rare just for them extra nerd points thinking this is going to cost me big time going to try and do most of this one myself call it cutting my teeth

am a bit daunted as I've never taken something from this stage before to completion



anyone got a mk2 polo rear parcel shelf ? will pay pennys for the right one

Its gonna be so good, and you'll love it all the more if you do a lot of it your self.

yeh work has started at last, loads to do so gonna be quite a while before it,s on the road, dont mind as long as it,s cool

still in the very very early stages of plastic reconstruction

what you see above is only plastic no fillers /fiberglass or anyother strange substance ive seen used to fill gaps (the grey up can see is primer i use to see where i need to add more plastic
about 3 hours work give it another 10 or 20 and it will be ready for phat flat blacking

had a few more hours on it over week end

its a hard slog but its the mk2 ive seen so far with the bumpers like this

sacking the bumpers off so, if any one wants a partly finished plastic welded mk2 front bumper and a standard rear pm me dont want much for them

removed and cleaned the carb yesrterday
robbed the battery off the golf (that batterys doing the rounds at the mo ) and gave the polo a little go fired up 1st time so am very happy today

So what's the plan if you're not using the plastic bumpers now?

ran great fired up 1st go and on vapours as well I've fallen for this car Sarah's going to have a fight on her hands


ye bodies in great nick not masses needed to get this looking great going to take my time and try to do as much of it as poss my self
