    hey peeps, thought I would show some of the work i have been doing to my mk1, this may be a long read so get a cuppa, hope I dont bore you too much! Laughing

    bought the golf a few years ago, my second car after a starlet Embarassed thought about getting a mk1 fiesta but this one came up at the right time and i immediatly fell in love with it Laughing Rolling Eyes
    sorry for poor quality pics, all done on my phone!

    didn't really change much for the first year except the front indicators. it was a 1.1 but was very nippy considering the engine wasn't the healthiest and drank oil! so an engine change was on the cards Cool i did a compression test which showed that cylinders 2 and 3 were blowing through but the engine carried on regardless until i decided to pull it out about 6 months later!

    stripped out old engine whilst in my final year at uni, very bad idea, no money no time! Crying or Very sad

    so she ended up standing looking abandoned for a while, only getting attention from scrap collectors! Evil or Very Mad

    originally i was going to put a 1.6 gti 8v in that a friend had given me but a 16v kr came up cheap so had to get it, had a lovely 80's paint scheme too! Laughing

    the 1.6 ended up in a mates mk2 after his engine decided to do this

    engine in

    got it running but the webers needed tuning. he took it to a local garage who did them and it ran much better then the very same day a focus drove into the back of him and wrote it off Evil or Very Mad gutted doesn't describe it! the best thing was the drivers responce quote;

    "oh my god i can't believe it, i haven't had a crash in two years" Evil or Very Mad Laughing had to laugh!

    in mean time stripped the kr
