Post by MkIISimon Sun Feb 15, 2009 12:52 pm

Well, I've finally taken the plunge and moved my new shape Toledo on and got myself some new wheels. I wanted something that would put a smile on my face when I was driving it, was a little bit different and could maybe take a bit of performance modding to increase the power. After quite a bit of looking and a few test drives, I've got myself this:

I pick it up on Friday and can't wait. It's a bit older than I would have liked but it's the only one I could find to this spec in the colour I wanted. It's done 17,000 miles and has full main dealer history. It's the BTCC spec car with 18" BBS rims that only come on this model and were made for Seat Motorsport and has the VW 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine under the hood. I'll post some more pics when I pick it up and will hopefully get over to the next VUU Cult meet as I've not been to one for far too long.

Nice! There's a guy at work with one similar in black, they're lovely cars, got any plans for it? or just going to enjoy it as it is for now? Cool

Very impressed Simon. Loving it. Originally from Scotland...? Liking the colour, the kit and the rims.

Get your ass to the next meet then so you can take me for a spin in it!

Gee - Cheers buddy. I'll definitely try to get my ass over to the next meet and take you out for a blast.

rob-g - Probably just going to use it and enjoy it for the first few months but I have plans short term to look into fitting a Forge induction kit and depending on how it handles with the standard suspension set up maybe get it lowered? After that I'm not too sure??

PS: Gee - Yes, I think it is originally from Scotland. The Toledo I bought from Seat UK was also a car that they'd given to the Scottish FA to use as a courtesy car so they must have some sort of deal going on up there.

Hi Jezz, no the 2.0 litre turbo that's in it is giving out 200BHP. The Cupra is tuned up to 240BHP but doesn't come with the BTCC kit fitted, although it has Brembo brakes and racing seats. The Cupra K1 that does have the BTCC kit fitted is tuned up to 260BHP. Both of these were significantly more money.

...but I'm sure, for £175 you can get it remapped for an easy 240bhp...? Very Happy

I paid over £500 for my GTi to be re-mapped by Revo, combined with the full Milltek exhaust and a Jetex panel filter I got 252bhp, which is enough to see off Scoobys and Evo's and really embarass R32's, lovely car by the way Si whats the interior spec. Cool

Exactly gee, I'm thinking induction kit and remap are the way forward.

Cheers Deano, the interior is classed as 'Sports' spec which means that the seats have more side and back support than the standard Leon seats but they're not full on racing seats like in the Cupra. The FR interior sits somewhere in between, but I wasn't keen on the badging of the FR which is a bit in your face. It's got cruise control, dual zone climate, electric fold in mirrors, you can turn the ESP off etc. It's the standard six speed box. I tried the DSG but wasn't 100% sure that I'd like it everyday after the initial novelty wore off?
