Nice one, I like them, they're cool. I didn't recognise them as you hardly ever see them without the full hubcap on. They look good on the older Mk3 for sure.

Re: Project Silver - No.3
Sorry... crap weather, decorating dining room and being away with work has halted play I'm afraid. Was hoping to bring it to the meet on Sunday, but if I do, it'll be unfinished and on trade plates!

Crikey, as if being away with work and the awful weather wasn't bad enough, you've also had to do some decorating, unlucky pal. I can't make the meet this weekend as I can't drive and am on crutches! I'll just wait until the Mk3 is finished for the official unveiling. Patience never was my strong point!!

Re: Project Silver - No.3
Cheers bud. Managed to source another... plus a set of Mk3 bars too.
I haven't been able to do much to the Mk3 over the last couple of weeks... but this weekend coming will see some work on it and some new pics! Should be ready for the road if the weather holds out...

Re: Project Silver - No.3
Are you keeping this gee just seems to of gone past the get it running and sell it stage now looking like a nice mk3 these days is getting a tiny bit harder to find another few years and they are going to be a rare vw
what with the scrapage thing wiping out a fair few good ones and the rot that seems to blight the late reg models P/R Reg
mines on it's last legs body wise now and this winters the death of it I think rots setting in now on all for corners which is a big shame been a great car really

Re: Project Silver - No.3
No, definitely selling this still.
All money goes towards the wedding...! I needed to get the Mk3 to a point that I was happy selling it on without any guilty thoughts... plus I've added a few other touches that will make it attractive to a potential purchaser.
It is a nice motor though... but I love the A4 too much to keep the Mk3 and sell that!

Just needs custom headlining and pillar trims installing, custom (my new word) spacers on rims and new front arch trims putting on... then it's ready!
Tinted the new Vento lights last night with Lamin-x... they look pretty good.
Simon... no one else has seen it apart from pics on here either... no one ever just pops round to se me! lol

Re: Project Silver - No.3
Just a few sneaky peeks of stuff to keep you all interested!
Headlining...
16" Beetle steels... with perfect offset! Custom bolt-on spacers courtesy of the Man Knaggs! (ignore missing sill-trim end cap)
Obviously it'll have an intense detailing session to bring the plastics back, etc. I'm getting quite excited about it being completed now!

Re: Project Silver - No.3
Yeah. I did it all on my ownsome. It was tougher than I thought it was going to be to be hoenst. I've also done the A,B & C pillars to match. If the weather holds off this weekend, I'll get it all in and take some proper photos of it all.
Dean... that was what I was going for... nice and subtle.

Re: Project Silver - No.3
A few pics I took today after fitting the rear adapter/spacers for the 3rd time!
As you can see, the front sits a bit low and I've completely smashed the new front splitter today (twice). I've only driven it 500 yards so far! I don't hold out much hope for it... so I think I'm going to fit a standard GL splitter instead (anyone got one?). Might give it a bit more of a fighting chance then!
Still got a few little jobs externally, then it's on to re-fitting the headlining and associated bits.
It's slowly coming on though...
P.S. French font plates are the new German plates!

Looking good G,I dont think the french font will take off on the german scene but that can only be a good thing as they look rather good.
